Verity PerryVerity's family has lived at Rosevidney since the 1930's. Verity was always an animal obsessed child from the start, and what a fantastic way to grow up on a working farm often catching all manner of small fury animals, reptiles and often helping to calve cows in her school uniform as young as the age of 6 or 7, much to her mothers disgust! The first animal Verity ever rode was the farms pet cow. `Rosevidney Lucky Charm' or L.C. for short. She was the first Guernsey cow reared by Nigel, Verity's father. This then progressed to Verity's first proper mount `Wimpy' the Sudanese Donkey Stallion. Nigel was adamant that Verity had to prove she could look after Wimpy well enough, then she could have a pony. Wimpy went on to teach Verity all she knows about how to fall off, and is still resident at Rosevidney at the grand old age of 24. Once Wimpy had set the foundations there was no stopping Verity from progressing onto the real thing. Her first Pony was a grey gelding called Florrian. He had been on livery at Rosevidney, and his owners didn't have time to care for him. The very day he was taken on Loan by Verity he was suffering from a bad bout of Laminitis and took many months to recover. Verity nursed him back to health and got him fit and riding, well enough to jump. Verity's second pony was Flash Harry an Arab x Welsh Pony. Verity started to compete on him unaffiliated showing, show jumping and cross country. |

Verity had Flash for two years on loan while his owner had a baby. After Flash went back Nigel brought Verity two long term projects to work on `Apachy Queen' as a yearling, and `Baldhu's Choice' who we accepted as part of a debt form a livery. `Apachy Queen' was completely wild and took several months in the stable of quiet handling before even a head collar could be put on her, but once her trust was gained the rest is history: see our horses. `Baldhu's Choice' was also in a sorry state with the DIY livery who owned her has totally neglected her. She went onto become Verity's first affiliated horse: see our horses. At the age of 16 Verity went to work for a junior BSJA rider who has a member of the young riders British team. Verity travelled as a groom with the family and was employed with them for approx 5/6 months before feeling that the care of her own horses was taking a back burner due to the long hours and went to a more local eventing yard to complete her NVQ2. Verity then went on to take her NVQ3 from Rosevidney, travelling to Duchy college weekly. Verity trained at Duchy College gaining her NVQ & BHS qualifications. Verity then in 1999 started a Higher National Diploma part time so she could run Rosevidney. Verity met Scott whilst Verity was riding `Baldhu's Choice' at a local Cross Country event they were both using as a warm up for the season. |

Scott Perry was riding his young horse `Alice Springs' and had been having a spooky round when Verity bolted past in a flurry apologising as she went. ( the pair were often speeding, as apposed to having any sort of control, but it seemed to work for them as Verity had complete trust in `Baldhu's Choice'). Both Verity & Scott had hacked to the competition as for one reason or another both their transports were off the road. So they hacked back to their respective yards in the same direction and the rest is History. Baldhu's Choice & Verity BSJA |

Verity & Scott were then engaged in 2001 on a safari trip in Africa to see the 2001 Verity & Scott were married in August 2003 and Verity then brought Caramac, a hot headed Hanovarian gelding who helped Verity make valuable decisions with her career and that was to inspire her to ride dressage. Verity graduated in November 2003 and since then has concentrated on her competition riding and supporting husband Scott in his event riding with his horses. Verity now holds her BHS4 in riding & care, as well as a Higher National Diploma at Distinction. Verity is very keen to prove her self on her ability as a rider through competing not with pieces of paper and as you can see browsing this website Verity & Scott have both achieved that.

Scott PerryScott began his riding carrier at Tregenna Riding Srables in St Ives at around the age of 5. Later he started lessons at Old Mill Stables in Lelant, producers of top rider such as David Trott. Scott rode various horses over the years but obtained his first pony called `Zac' at the age of 13. Scott rode regularly and competed his pony until he was sold due to commitments with exams and college. Whilst at Old Mill, Scott achieved the ABRS gold award under Shirley Renowden's instruction. When Scott attended University in Plymouth he continued to ride when ever possible by helping Lucy Wiegesma at Tregembo, he was also president of the riding club and represented Plymouth University on several occasions. Scott graduated from University with Firsts in Civil & Coastal Engineering. He then moved to Hampshire to work where he brought his next horse Alice Springs a Dutch cross Thoroughbred mare. Who was 4 years old and not even halter broken. He proceeded to take the following 2 weeks off work and by the end of the second week Alice was under saddle. Scott liked Alice so much he went back to the stud that had bred her and brought her full brother `Something Stupid'. Scott moved back to Cornwall at the end of 1999, with Alice and her brother. Scott continued Alice's training and then on a pre season outing to a local cross country came across a rider going like a rocket in his round, later known to him as Verity Honess. |

| Verity and her mount Baldhu's Choice came flying up behind Scott and Alice who were looking totally sedate and in control, Verity called out that she was right behind him and Scott politely pulled out of her way, much to Verity's shock, as she was unaware that he had already been eliminated due to a narrow fence issue the pair had encountered earlier on in the course. Verity then semi bolted to the end of the course, as they often did in the early days. At the finish line Verity apologised to Scott for upsetting his round and Scott explained that he had already been out of the running. For one reason or another both Verity & Scott had hacked to this event as their lorry's had been off the road, so they hacked home together, and the rest is history! Scott took Alice to BE Novice level and sold her onto a young BHSPI, who she took under her wing and they have enjoyed many happy seasons together. Something Stupid became a huge hearted and scopey eventer, competing BSJA, BD at Elementary, representing his riding club Threewaters at the Nationals for cross country in 2002, Show jumping & dressage in 2004 and also was placed at the National open level three day event championships at Offchurch in 2005 (BE novice/intermediate course). Something Stupid competed successfully at novice level BE before he was sold to Hampshire as a schoolmaster. |

In 2004 Scott and Verity went to Holland searching for a new horse. They found a very good contact who helped them locate `Otto'. He had spent a few weeks under the rider who had produced Geoff Billingtons `Its Otto', hence Scott's new mount became `Tis Not Otto'. Scott competed Otto BSJA and was placed at the British Dressage Regional Championships in Feb 2006. He also rode at the BD combined training National Championships getting one of the few clear SJ rounds. Scott has since started Otto's eventing carrier, and he has already qualified Otto for the south west intro regional final and the intro Landrover championship in September. Verity has also competed him in dressage, winning music and pure dressage classes with 72%+. The pair even achieved 80% in 2005 at a future young dressage horse class, a wonderful achievement as Otto is pure jumping bred. |
